About Stackable
Stackable Labs provides the foundational experience layer for modern customer messaging. We give brands, developers, and partners the ability to extend Zendesk Messenger with rich, interactive, fully branded experiences — moving past flat text exchanges into conversations that actually solve customer problems.
Why we built Stackable
Customer support messaging has been stuck for a decade. (Probably closer to two, but who's counting.) Most teams are wedged into a one-size-fits-all chat box where the only tool is text — even when the question is "where's my order?", "can I rebook this flight?", or "approve this for me." That's a missed opportunity for every brand, every developer, and every customer.
We saw it firsthand running agnoStack, the post-purchase platform powering customer service for hundreds of retailers on Zendesk. Brands kept asking for the same thing: "can we make this messenger feel like our product?" Our answer used to be "sort of." Now, with Stackable, the answer is "yes...let's go!"
On customer experience
Here's the irony we keep coming back to: the industry we came up in has spent two decades treating customer experience as the differentiator — every brand swore by it, every consultant evangelized it, every CX team obsessed over every touchpoint. Then AI chat arrived and we all, somehow, agreed that flatter, faster, and artificial was somehow "good enough" because it was automated.
The opportunity AI actually unlocks — instant context, immediate action, real personalization in the exact moment a customer needs it — has mostly been buried under conversations that are intelligent in name only. We're customers too. We noticed.
Stackable is putting the experience back at the core of customer experience. Where it belongs: not fighting conversational bot purgatory, but enhancing the messaging experience on the brand's terms, in the moments that customers need most.
What we believe
- The messenger is product surface, not a support widget. Every brand should be able to express themselves into the experience — not stuck behind a generic gray bubble.
- Developers should ship in minutes, not weeks. Our SDK, AI Studio, and marketplace exist to remove every yak-shave between an idea and an experience users actually use.
- Distribution is a platform problem. Build once. Reach every brand on the platform. No per-tenant scaffolding, no rebuilds, no Sunday-night deploys.
How the platform thinks about experiences
Every extension on Stackable composes from three primitives:
- Contextual — Surface relevant data automatically: order status, account balance, reservation details, last touchpoint, anything you can fetch.
- Actionable — Let customers complete real work without leaving the conversation: returns, approvals, form submissions, scheduling, payments.
- On Brand — Every surface feels native to the brand: consistent, polished, designed — not embedded.
These primitives compose into experiences across eCommerce, travel, healthcare, SaaS, and financial services — and anywhere else where a conversation should do more than just talk back.
Where we came from
Stackable Labs was founded in 2026 by Adam Grohs and Rob Bowers, the team behind agnoStack. We're proudly based in Miami Beach, and we've spent the last several years living deep inside the customer support stack — long enough to have strong feelings about it — and ready to actually do something about them.
Where we're going
We're hiring across engineering, design, sales, and customer experience. If you've ever looked at a customer messaging product and thought "this could be so much more," we'd love to hear from you. Reach out at careers@stackablelabs.com.
